Inspections
In 2019, the Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 created a Fire Prevention Bureau to assist the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office with code compliance, as well as to provide and public fire safety education to the District. LPFPD4 hired a full-time Fire Prevention Officer who is responsible for leading and managing all public fire prevention activities, inspections, and investigations.
The Fire Prevention Bureau conducts fire and life safety inspections on an annual basis. The inspection process is intended to assist proprietors and property owners in preventing potential loss from fire and other safety risks by identifying and informing the occupants of what is needed to comply with code requirements.
All inspections are at no charge to the property or business owner and will be conducted at a reasonable time while the business is open.
